Role Overview

We are seeking a Team Leader to provide day‑to‑day operational management of staff undertaking a range of Environmental Health and Housing functions.

Qualifications & Experience

You will be educated to degree level in Environmental Health or another relevant subject or hold an accredited qualification in Environmental Health and a Certificate of Registration with the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board or equivalent.

You will have a demonstrable track record of motivating staff within a busy operational multi‑disciplinary team, excellent written and oral communication and numeracy skills, and be able to provide effective oversight of legal documents and policies produced by the team.

You will have detailed practical knowledge of regulating private sector housing and Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO) or environmental crime and public health, and be able to operate as the lead officer in one of these specialist areas of work. Both Team Leaders will work collaboratively together across the Environmental Health & Housing function.

The successful candidate will have the ability to work with sensitivity in a political environment and demonstrate personal authority, self‑confidence, tact and diplomacy to liaise effectively in potentially confrontational situations.
