Job summary

Lighthouse Pedagogy Trust seeks an experienced Team Leader to combine hands-on work with children with leadership development. You will lead and develop practitioners, safeguard children and promote welfare, and work with families to support wellbeing and growth.

You’ll contribute to a nurturing home environment, manage records and regulatory requirements, and share leadership responsibilities including on-call duties and attendance at management meetings.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children or vulnerable groups in a residential setting.
• Ability to lead, motivate, supervise, support and develop staff to ensure high standards of care.
• Capability to build strong and trusting relationships with children.
• Understanding risks and issues facing children in care and strategies to support them.
• Skills in de-escalating conflict and handling challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts and model excellent practice to create a safe, nurturing home.
• Line manage, coach and develop practitioners, including induction and supervision.
• Build strong relationships with children, supporting their wellbeing and goals.
• Safeguard children and promote welfare, responding to risks and changing needs.
• Lead and oversee children's care and activities, ensuring plans are followed.
• Work with families and professionals to strengthen relationships around the child.
• Support leadership and continuous improvement, including records and regulatory compliance.
• Share leadership responsibilities, including management meetings and on-call rota.
