Job summary

Brainkind in Aylesbury is seeking a Team Leader to guide and develop a team of support workers delivering quality social and vocational support. You will ensure their needs are met according to individual plans, policies and regulatory standards, and create a positive impact on the people we support.

You will lead by example, manage workload, and uphold care standards while representing Brainkind at internal and external activities.

Qualifications

• NVQ / QCF level 3 HSC or willingness to work towards within 12 months.
• Previous experience of working within a care/support environment.
• Knowledge of current relevant legislation relating to care standards, health and safety and food hygiene.
• Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
• Demonstrate ability to be flexible and adaptable in approach, prioritise, plan and organise the workload.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a team of support workers to meet individual support plans.
• Establish professional relationships with stakeholders to support Brainkind's reputation.
• Provide line management to a designated team within the division/location.
• Set and communicate high standards of care and professional conduct within the team.
• Lead and support compliance with Brainkind quality audits and health and safety duties.
• Contribute information for incident/safeguarding reporting and participate in external meetings and events.

Salary: A competitive rate of up to £15.05 per hour with a £1 enhancement on Weekends and Bank Holidays

Located in Aylesbury, Kent House is a specialist residential centre providing continuing rehabilitation and specialist care and support for people with acquired brain injury (ABI). It forms part of the nationwide network of rehabilitation support services provided by the Brain Injury Rehabilitation Trust (BIRT).

The Role:

As a Team Leader your main purpose will be to contribute and have responsibility for providing quality social and vocational support services for the people we support. You will lead, supervise and develop a team of support workers to ensure the needs of those wesupport are met according to their individual support plan in line with company policy and procedures and regulatory standards.

Main duties will include:

• Establish and maintain professional relationships with stakeholders in order to compliment and contribute to the positive reputation of the company.
• To provide line management to a designated team of staff within a specified group at a location or group of locations within the allocated division.
• To undertake any reasonable traveling requirements in order to fulfil the tasks and responsibilities of the role. This may include supporting other locations within the Division as required.
• To set and communicate high standards of care and professional conduct within the team supervised.
• To lead and support compliance with Brainkind quality audits.
• To lead and support in health and safety duties as appropriate
• To contribute information for the accurate notification of incidents/accidents/safeguarding as appropriate.
• Represent the Brainkind at meetings and seminars and any other external events, where appropriate.

Requirement
