A local authority in the UK is seeking an experienced M1 Manager to lead a care team in providing support to individuals with learning disabilities and related challenges. The role involves managing care practices, ensuring compliance with quality standards, and working flexibly on a rota system including nights and weekends. We are looking for an experienced, motivated, flexible, and enthusiastic M1 Manager to join our team in a respite setting to provide care and support to individuals with a learning disability, challenging behaviour, and autism.
The post holder will provide first‑line management of the Home and a professional care team. The major focus of the role will be to ensure that quality care practices are implemented and adhered to, in accordance with the Essential Standards of Safety and Quality as determined by The Care Quality Commission (CQC), statutory guidelines, and the statement of purpose of the Home.
Manage a team of key workers and oversee the implementation of care packages, including the formulation, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and review of care plans. Plan for and supervise the delivery of care packages in cooperation with other professionals and agencies. Manage, supervise, and engage in the day‑to‑day care practice and activities of the home, including planning and participating in activities, ensuring the health care and training needs of all residents are addressed, and promoting safeguarding.
Good communication skills are essential, and you will need to have the ability to use your own initiative.
You will be required to work on a rota system over a 7‑day week, which includes days, afters, waking nights, weekends, and bank holidays, on a rota basis.
