We’re proud to have achieved Great Place To Work status for three years running - and to be recognised among the UK's Best Workplaces in Manufacturing, Production & Transportation.

But it's about so much more than badges to us, it's about being recognised by our people for the continuous work we do to do better for them.

About Our Opportunity

Are you ready to lead with purpose, drive operational excellence, and inspire a high-performing team? We’re looking for a Team Leader to join our growing network and play a key role in delivering safe, efficient, and customer-focused operations.

As part of our Regional Operations function, you’ll report to the Operations Manager and take ownership of day-to-day activities across our UK sites. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll make a real impact — championing safety, continuous improvement, and inclusion while developing a motivated and engaged team.

Saturday working in AM once in 3/4 weeks.

What You Will Be Doing

In this role, you’ll lead and develop a regional operations team to achieve excellence in safety, quality, and performance. You’ll collaborate across commercial and logistics functions to meet business objectives and ensure seamless service delivery to our customers.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading daily operations with a focus on safety, efficiency, and quality
  • Fostering a culture of inclusion, respect, and psychological safety
  • Using KPIs and data to drive performance and identify improvement opportunities
  • Building strong relationships with customers, local depots, and internal stakeholders
  • Managing stock, grading, and pricing to optimise turnover and control costs
  • Applying lean and business improvement methods to enhance productivity
  • Coaching, mentoring, and developing a skilled, engaged, and diverse team

You’ll also have access to a range of professional development opportunities — from leadership training and mentoring to cross-functional project work and career progression pathways within our operations function.

About You

You’re an inclusive, hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment. You care deeply about safety, efficiency, and people development, and you bring a practical, solutions-focused approach to everything you do.

We’re looking for someone who brings:

  • Experience in manufacturing, production, or material processing
  • A strong commitment to safety, wellbeing, and operational excellence
  • The ability to read and interpret data, charts, and performance metrics
  • Proven experience mentoring and supporting team members
  • Familiarity with standard operating procedures and continuous improvement
  • Financial awareness and confidence making decisions under pressure
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel and stay overnight when required

You’ll be pragmatic, detail-oriented, and a confident communicator who values collaboration, feedback, and growth.

If you have exceptional customer service skills, a successful track record as a team leader/ supervisor, and you have the ability to oversee and manage our shift teams whilst continually improving performance, then this role will be perfect for you!

Who we are

Our purpose is to create a future where the materials we use don’t need to be extracted from the planet.

At EMR, we give new life to unwanted materials. Every year, we recycle 10 million tonnes of metals and plastics, saving 19 million tonnes of carbon from entering the Earth’s atmosphere, diverting waste from landfill and protecting resources and habitats.

We couldn’t do any of this without our team members. In return for all they do, we do everything we can to create an environment of belonging, value, support and growth.

We’re proud to have achieved Great Place To Work status, but it’s about so much more than a badge. It’s about being recognised by our people for the continuous work we do to do better for them:

‘The people who work here are from varied backgrounds and have a variety of beliefs, all of which are accepted and respected.’

‘I’m encouraged to keep a healthy work-life balance so that I can be performing at my best.’

‘I’ve been supported every step of the way in my career progression.’

‘‘EMR offers a fantastic and inclusive environment; collaboration across the whole business, humility and hard work.’

We couldn’t do any of this without our team members. In return for all they do, we do everything we can to create an environment of belonging, value, support and growth, underpinned by our Company values of We Care and We Do.

We Care
Integrity – our people are Respectful and Honest
Trust – our people are Collaborative and Genuine

We Do
Accountable – our people are Determined and Responsible
Innovative – our people have a Growth Mind-set and are Progressive
