Job summary

A regional healthcare organization in Maidstone is seeking a part-time Hotel Service Team Leader to oversee Hotel Services and ensure cleaning standards. The ideal candidate will have supervisory and cleaning experience, ideally within the NHS. This role includes managing shifts, supporting staff training, and maintaining hygiene standards in various areas. The salary is between £24,937 to £26,598 pro rata.

Job description

Please note, at this stage, the role is open only to internal staff (including NHSP and Agency staff currently on placement within our organisation) and staff substantively employed within Kent and Medway NHS Trusts and the Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board (ICB). Any individual who is at risk of redundancy will be given priority, provided they meet the essential criteria.

We are looking to recruit a part-time Hotel Service Team Leader to join our busy team based at Priority House in Maidstone.

The duties will include:

Maintaining a patient focussed Hotel Services function across clinical and non-clinical areas.

Deputising for the Site Supervisor in their absence.

Assisting in the day-to-day management of the Hotel Services Team on the designated site.

Ensuring standards within the designated areas meet the national cleaning standards across the site for the trust.

Main duties of the job
  • Assist all Hotel Services staff in completing the weekly shift rota within the agreed time scale and ensure hygiene standards are met.
  • Support with the overseeing of Hotel services on site, ensuring the hygiene codes of practice are followed and report any difficulties.
  • Participate in the cleanliness in Hospitals Programme.
  • Assist with the coordination of all wards and Departments performance monitoring weekly, to achieve the trust standard.
  • Assist with collating data for any food wastage surveys and report any discrepancies in food quality and quantity.
  • Support the staff with any stock deliveries and the ordering of replenishment stocks for ward provisions in conjunction with the trust's financial instructions.
  • Organising the staff shift rotas, allocating annual leave and staff sickness to ensure adequate leave is provided and areas are covered.
  • Assist with staff training whilst in the workplace and to include manual handling, ensuring all data is collated for each member of staff.
  • Communicate effectively with all staff members to achieve a healthy and safe environment.
