Working Hours: Sunday to Thursday 06:00am - 16:00pm (Some flexibility needed)

The Flavour Network is excited to be supporting a leading food manufacturer in the recruitment of a Bakery Team Leader. This is a great opportunity for an experienced and hands-on food production professional to join a fast-growing business that combines traditional food making techniques with modern manufacturing.
As Bakery Team Leader, youll play a key role in ensuring bakery operations run smoothly, safely, and efficiently, maintaining high standards of quality and leading your team to deliver excellence every day.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all bakery line operations, ensuring production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
- Maintain high product quality standards in line with specifications and food safety requirements.
- Conduct regular checks on product appearance, weights, and bake consistency.
- Ensure correct use, cleaning, and maintenance of bakery equipment (ovens, mixers, depositors, etc.).
- Lead, motivate, and support the bakery team to achieve daily production goals.
- Organise team breaks, allocate tasks, and ensure effective shift coverage.
- Coach and develop team members to build skills, confidence, and performance.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture.
- Complete short interval control (SIC) reporting to monitor performance and identify issues.
- Escalate and resolve problems quickly, whether equipment, quality, or process-related.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and suggest better ways of working.
- Ensure all team members follow health, safety, and hygiene procedures at all times.
- Carry out pre-start checks and ensure the safe operation of bakery machinery.
- Take ownership of accident prevention and near-miss reporting.
- Support site-wide compliance with food safety and quality management standards.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a bakery, food manufacturing, or fast-paced production environment.
- Strong leadership skills, with confidence managing and motivating a team.
- Good understanding of food safety, HACCP, and health & safety practices.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational ability.
- Able to perform under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and product quality.
- Forklift licence is desirable
- Experience with short interval reporting (SIC) or similar production control systems is desirable
- Proactive and alert to what's happening across the production line.
- Takes ownership and accountability for results.
