Barnett Waddingham, now part of Howden, invites applications for a Team Leader to guide a pension administration team in Leeds or Liverpool on a hybrid basis.

The role focuses on workload management, performance monitoring, and development planning, with opportunities to influence recruitment, coaching, and quality controls within a growing benefits operation.

Qualifications

  • GCSE/A levels required or equivalent.
  • A relevant degree or PMI examinations desirable with pension administration experience.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office programmes, especially Excel, Word and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Takes overall responsibility for the team’s workload and service to members.
  • Monitors the team’s performance against SLAs and client deadlines.
  • Conducts regular one-to-one discussions and formal Personal Development Reviews (PDRs).
  • Motivates and facilitates effective team working, including remote team members.
  • Involves input into recruitment and conducts interviews.
  • Ensures quality standards per policies and internal controls.
  • Works with the Operations Manager to identify development needs and provide coaching.

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Team Leader to join our growing team. This is a permanent, full time role that is based in our Liverpool or Leeds offices, working on a hybrid basis.

A snapshot of your day:
  • Takes overall responsibility for the team’s workload and service to members
  • Monitors the team’s performance against Service Level Agreements and client deadlines
  • Conducts regular one-to-one discussions for all team members and undertakes formal Personal Development Reviews (PDRs)
  • Motivates and facilitates effective team working, recognising that team members may be working remotely
  • Has an input into the recruitment process and conducts interviews
  • Is responsible for ensuring team members meet quality standards by adhering to policies and procedures and tasks are carried out in accordance with our AAF internal controls
  • Using the MI available, works with the Operations Manager to ensure that team members are performing effectively, identifying development needs and providing coaching and training where necessary
  • Provides constructive feedback for others in order to improve their understanding and knowledge and support the development of the individual

  • GCSE/A levels are required
  • A relevant degree or progress with PMI examinations is desirable together with experience appropriate for the role in pension administration
  • A strong understanding of Microsoft Office programmes, in particular Excel, Word and Outlook
