Job summary

Marton Care Homes is seeking a dedicated Team Leader for Langley Park Care Home in Langley Park, Durham. The role requires leading a caring team and delivering high standards of daily living support for residents in a warm, community-focused home.

You will mentor staff, oversee care plans and promote resident independence in a friendly, supportive environment that values dignity and connection within the Langley Park community.

Responsibilities

  • As Team Leader, ensure residents receive the highest standard of care and companionship.
  • Lead, mentor and support care colleagues to foster a positive team culture.
  • Assist with training, supervision and development of team members.
  • Provide high-quality physical, emotional and social support while promoting independence.
  • Support residents with mobility needs and appropriate use of equipment.
  • Monitor residents with dementia or complex care needs and respond to needs.
  • Review care plans, daily records and documentation per policy.
  • Encourage activities and community engagement for wellbeing.

About the Role

As a Team Leader, you will play a key role in ensuring residents receive the highest standard of care, support, and companionship. You will lead by example, supporting colleagues while fostering a warm, welcoming environment where residents can remain connected to the people, activities, and community they love.

Working closely with residents, families, healthcare professionals, and your wider team, you'll help create a positive atmosphere where everyone feels respected, valued, and included.

What You'll Be Doing

As our Team Leader, you will:

  • Ensure the highest standards of care are delivered by supporting residents with all aspects of daily living when required.
  • Lead, mentor, and support care colleagues, helping to create a positive and supportive team culture.
  • Assist with the training, supervision, and development of new and junior team members.
  • Provide high-quality physical, emotional, and social support while promoting residents' independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
  • Support residents with mobility needs and ensure appropriate use of equipment and aids.
  • Monitor and support residents living with dementia, confusion, or complex care needs.
  • Promote continence care and assist with personal care requirements.
  • Support residents and their families through sensitive and compassionate end-of-life care when required.
  • Complete and review care plans, daily records, and documentation in line with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Encourage participation in activities, hobbies, and community events that promote wellbeing and social connection.
  • Respond promptly to nurse call systems, telephone enquiries, and visitors.
  • Build positive relationships with families, healthcare professionals, GPs, and external partners.
  • Act as a role model within the home, promoting the values and standards of Marton Care Homes.

  • Qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care, or willing to work towards this qualification.
