Job summary

Silver Birch Care Holdings is seeking a Team Leader for a children’s home in Greater London. You will oversee day-to-day running, lead care teams, and ensure high standards of care for young people.

The role requires at least 1 year in residential childcare, safeguarding expertise, and a commitment to child-centred practice. Driving licence is preferred; salary includes sleep-in enhancements where applicable.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in residential childcare.
• Experience working within an Ofsted-regulated children’s home.
• Strong safeguarding and child-centred practice.
• Full UK driving licence (preferred).

Job description

Hours: Full-Time | 40 hours per week (including days, nights, sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays)
Salary: £35,568 per annum, plus up to an additional £8,460 per year for sleep-ins (dependent on the number of sleep-ins completed).

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Team Leader to join our children’s home at Silver Birch Care (Residential Services). This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the management team and making a real difference in the lives of young people.

About the Role

As a Team Leader, you will support the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring that high standards of care are consistently delivered. You will help lead the team and create a safe, stable, and nurturing environment where young people can thrive.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing a safe, supportive, and child-centred environment
• Leading shifts and guiding care staff
• Supporting care planning, record-keeping, and reporting
• Ensuring compliance with Ofsted regulations and safeguarding standards
• Promoting independence and positive outcomes for young people

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 1 year experience in residential childcare
• Experience working within an Ofsted-regulated children’s home
• Strong understanding of safeguarding and child-centred practice
• A positive, resilient, and committed approach
• Full UK driving licence (preferred)
