Job summary

Electus Recruitment seeks a Team Lead – RF Design to own major RF engineering programmes and steer technical delivery within the defence sector. You will guide a team of RF engineers, influence engineering direction and develop either a technical or people-management pathway.

You will work in Stevenage with a hybrid on-site pattern, and you must be a British citizen eligible for SC clearance. The role offers a competitive salary circa £75,000 and an annual bonus up to 21% plus pension

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading technical teams and delivering RF design activities.
• Strong practical RF circuit design and test experience across a broad frequency range.
• Knowledge of radio transceiver architectures and RF system design.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of RF design work packages from concept to implementation.
• Provide day-to-day technical and functional leadership to the RF team.
• Collaborate with engineering specialists and stakeholders to meet delivery objectives.
• Assist planning, resource allocation and project execution to meet quality, cost and schedule targets.
• Contribute to the development of RF and electronic engineering capability across the function.
• Drive design, integration and verification of advanced RF technologies.

Team Lead – RF Design

Essential requirements

• British Citizen able to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance
• Proven experience leading technical teams and delivering complex RF design activities
• Strong practical RF circuit design and test experience across a broad frequency range
• Knowledge of radio transceiver architectures and RF system design
• Experience working within multidisciplinary engineering environments

Salary and rewards

Circa £75,000 depending on experience, plus an annual bonus of up to 21% of salary.

Your role

• Lead the delivery of complex RF design work packages from concept through to implementation
• Provide day to day technical and functional leadership to a team of RF engineers
• Work closely with engineering specialists and programme stakeholders to achieve delivery objectives
• Support planning, resource allocation and project execution to meet quality, cost and schedule targets
• Contribute to the development of RF and electronic engineering capability across the wider function
• Drive the design, integration and verification of advanced RF technologies

Your experience

• Technical leadership experience within RF engineering environments
• RF design and test expertise covering amplifiers, filters, oscillators, synthesisers and modulation technologies
• Knowledge of analogue, digital and power supply design principles
• Experience with RF and antenna design tools such as Microwave Office or HFSS
• Understanding of manufacturing methods and design for manufacture and test principles
• Project planning and delivery experience using recognised planning tools and techniques
