Vacancy at Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust

Lead, develop, and innovate as the Team Lead for our Children and Young People’s Occupational Therapy (CYPOT) service in Merton.

Key Responsibilities & Scope
  1. Leadership & Management (80% focus)
    • Service Development: Proactively lead and implement service improvement initiatives, utilizing quality improvement processes.
    • Team Oversight: Provide direct supervision and leadership to Band 7 OTs and other staff, managing performance, sickness, and capability.
    • Quality Assurance: Oversee data monitoring, manage key performance indicators (KPIs) and quality assure clinical reports and advice.
    • Workforce Development: Champion the team's professional development through appraisals, clinical supervision and coordinating placements for OT students.
    • Risk Management: Handle and investigate DATIX incidents and complaints.
  2. Highly Specialist Clinical Practice (20% focus)
    • Manage a small caseload of highly complex clinical cases (0-19 years), utilizing advanced clinical reasoning, assessment, and intervention skills.
    • Act as a source of expert clinical advice and second opinions for the team, particularly in areas like splint fabrication, orthotics, and managing complex health and educational need.
    • Collaborate on ethical clinical reasoning and problem‑solving techniques.
