Job description

Amazon is seeking a Team Lead for its GSF NOW Transportation team. In this role, you will work closely with hubs, spokes, logistic partners, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth management of line haul operations across Amazon's GSF NOW network. The team lead will serve as the first point of contact for operational escalations, engaging with stakeholders to resolve issues and prevent recurrence. Additionally, the team lead will work on VRID hygiene, accrual improvements, in-transit loss reduction, safety culture development for drivers, truck utilization improvements, and new projects (such as Totes and PFS) at the zonal level. During BAU operations, the individual will be rostered in shifts to monitor operations and work on improvement projects.

Key job responsibilities
  1. Carrier onboarding and management
  2. Carrier performance and VC reduction
  3. Capacity planning: TU analysis and vehicle rightsizing, working on adhoc reduction
  4. Performance review and weekly business reviews (WBR)
  5. Coordinate with SLP and carriers to reduce in-transit losses/damages
  6. Engage with Safety teams to improve yard and road safety
  7. Site management
  8. Align vehicle fleet planning with stakeholders
  9. Provide distance and transit time inputs for all OD pairs
  10. Manage FCND and YMS check-in cases
  11. Collaborate with sites to reduce unloading dwells
  12. Ensure compliance with programs and regulations such as R4D, R4C, GPS registration, and BGV
Minimum qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Fluent in English (speaking, reading, and writing)
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications
  • Ability to complete complex tasks quickly with minimal guidance and react with urgency to situations requiring quick turnaround
