Job summary

A regional health provider in the UK is seeking a Team Coordinator to assist in caring for children and young adults with health needs. The ideal candidate will have experience in a residential setting and a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Social Care. Responsibilities include coordinating staff meetings and planning care. Positions are available only for current NHS employees in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Qualifications

  • Experience of undertaking clinical tasks like medication administration.
  • Experience of working within a residential home.

Team Coordinator

To assist the Ofsted Registered Manager in partnership with both family and other professionals in providing the appropriate care package, ensuring continuity and a consistent approach. To ensure the provision of a warm and homely environment that meets the emotional, physical, cultural, religious and spiritual needs of the child/young adult.

In conjunction with the Ofsted Registered Manager and registered nurses co-ordinate and support the team of healthcare support workers working within the home, to provide a high quality services to the children, young people and their families.

Main duties of the job

To work under the Children's homes regulations including the Quality standards (Ofsted)

To plan the children and young people's overnight stays on a monthly basis, taking into account the compatibility and needs of the young people and their families.

To co-ordinate the team's monthly staff meeting, ensuring staff are allocated time within their contracted hours to attend

Ability to communicate and relate effectively with children, young people and their families, adults and colleagues using a variety of communication systems.

Education / Qualifications and Relevant Experience
  • Experience of caring for children with health needs / learning disability
  • Experience of undertaking clinical tasks (medication administration, care of a child with Epilepsy)
  • Experience of working within a residential home or short break provision
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential social care or equivalent
Knowledge and Abilities
  • Able to impart sensitive complex information when there may be barriers to understanding or safeguarding concerns
  • Good knowledge of child safeguarding & protection procedures 'Working Together to Safeguard Children' (2018) and the Children's Act (2004)
Skills and Aptitude
  • Teaching and training skills
