Overview

We’re looking for enthusiastic, caring and reliable people to join our friendly primary school team in Peckham (SE15). The school is based just a short walk from Queens Road Peckham and Peckham Rye stations, with good transport links and a real community feel.

Responsibilities

You’ll be working closely with teachers and support staff to:

• Support pupils’ learning in the classroom and in small groups.
• Help children who need extra emotional, behavioural, or academic support.
• Encourage positive attitudes and resilience in pupils who sometimes find school life challenging.
• Manage and respond calmly to challenging behaviour, following the school’s behaviour policy and using restorative approaches.
• Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils to help them thrive both socially and academically.

Qualifications

We’re looking for people who are:

• Calm, confident and resilient when faced with challenging behaviour.
• Positive and proactive in supporting children with a range of needs.
• Able to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with staff and families.
• Genuinely passionate about helping children reach their potential.
• Experience in a school or childcare setting is an advantage, especially if you’ve supported children with additional or behavioural needs, but it’s not essential — we’ll provide support and guidance along the way.

Hours & Pay

Hours: 8.30am – 4pm, Monday to Friday, term time only. Salary / Pay Rate will be dependent on your skills and experience.
