Job summary

An independent specialist school in Burgess Hill is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support children with communication difficulties, particularly those on the Autism spectrum. This is a small, independent specialist school designed for children with communication difficulties typically associated with Autism spectrum conditions. The school is currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to join their team ASAP. This setting has been open for 1 year and is growing daily. The school has strong facilities including an on-site kitchen, a fully equipped music room, and on-site Forest School with outdoor space including a trim trail.

The setting supports 45+ pupils aged 11 to 16 years, offering tailored 1:1 education that aims to change learners’ lives and provides a calm, nurturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the delivery of engaging and interactive lessons and educational activities

Qualifications

• Relevant SEN experience
• Experience (voluntary or paid) working with children and young adults
• GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
• Eligibility to work in the UK

Details

This position is permanent and full-time, Monday to Friday 8:30am–4:30pm. Financial support to access qualifications is provided.
