Job summary

St John’s CE First School, part of Initio Learning Trust, is seeking a Teaching Assistant G5 to support pupils with SEND, including 1:1 work and small groups.

The role is part-time (25 hours/week, 39 weeks/year) on a temporary contract to 31 December 2026, with a start around 19 October 2026. Salary £15,360–£15,604 per annum (Grade 5).

Hours are 8:45am–2:15pm, 5 days per week; this is a UK-based post with safeguarding checks and opportunities for professional development within a supportive team.

About the role

St John's CE First School is looking for a Teaching Assistant G5 to join our fantastic team. Could this be you?

Actual Salary £15,360 - £15,604 per annum (Grade 5)

This job is Part Time - Term Time Only for 25 hours per week and 39 weeks per year.

It is offered on a Temporary basis until 31-Dec-2026.

Approximate start date 19-Oct-2026.

This role will involve supporting the SEND needs of pupils, you will be supporting on a 1:1 basis and in a group of pupils with disability, learning difficulty or behavioural problems.

This role is offered on a Fixed-Term basis until 31 Dec 2026 for 25 hours per week which may be subject to change according to business need.

The hours of work for this post are 8.45am - 14.15pm with a 30 minute unpaid lunch break, 5 days per week which may be subject to change according to business need.

Please Note: the actual salary shown is based on the number of hours and weeks worked and paid annual leave entitlement for an employee with under 5 years' service.
