About the role

Source Supply are recruiting a passionate and resilient Teaching Assistant to join a specialist school in Sheffield supporting young people aged 7–16 who may have been permanently excluded from mainstream education.

We welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds — whether you’ve worked as a Sports Coach, Youth Worker, Youth Offending Worker, have a Psychology degree, or have experience supporting young people or adults with Special Educational Needs. If you have transferable skills and a passion for helping young people succeed, we’d love to hear from you!

As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll work closely with students who may display behaviours that challenging or experience emotional dysregulation. The role calls for someone who is engaging, nurturing, proactive, resilient, adaptable, and enthusiastic, with excellent communication skills and a genuine desire to make a positive impact.

You’ll be part of a committed and child-centred team who work tirelessly to ensure every pupil reaches their full potential.

Requirements
  • Salary is dependent on experience, qualifications and training. All successful applicants will:
  • Experience in working with children in a school or specialist setting

  • Have referenceable experience working in a school setting.
  • Be passionate about education, with a desire to help young people thrive.
  • Be an excellent communicator with a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Ideally hold a full, clean driving licence and have access to vehicle.
  • Be willing to travel to different sites around the city
