Job summary

Powys County Council’s Brynbach Satellite Unit in Ystradgynlais is seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant Level 2 (Special) to join a dynamic team and support students with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.

The role involves working with groups of 8–10 students and one-to-one support, with potential travel assistance for pupils at the start and end of the day; hours worked can be claimed in addition to salary.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with students with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties (SEBD).
• Ability to work with groups of 8 to 10 students as well as one-to-one support.

Responsibilities

• Support students with challenging behaviours as part of a team.
• Assist with travel arrangements for pupils at the start and end of the school day.
• Complete required safeguarding checks (DBS) and EWC registration; obtain two satisfactory references.

Teaching Assistant – Level 2 (Special)

The Governing Body are seeking to appoint a full-time teaching assistant to join our dynamic team and work at Brynbach Satellite Unit based in Ystradgynlais.

You will be a strongly motivated, committed and enthusiastic person who enjoys working as part of a team to support students with challenging behaviours. There is an opportunity to also assist with the travel arrangements for our pupils at the start and end of the school day and you can claim for the hours worked in addition to your salary.

The Successful candidate should have:

• Experience of working with students with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
• Ability to work with groups of 8 to 10 students as well as one to one.

The successful applicant will be subject to a Powys County Council Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS) and registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC) we will also require two satisfactory references before taking up the post.
