Teaching Assistant – Secondary School

Location: Tower Hamlets, London
Contract: Full-time, Term-time only
Salary: £90-130 (depending on experience)
Start Date: As soon as possible

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic secondary school team in Tower Hamlets. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people to achieve their full potential.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support learning in the classroom, provide targeted interventions, and help create a positive and inclusive environment where every student can thrive.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support classroom teachers with the delivery of engaging lessons.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students, including those with additional learning needs.
  • Help prepare learning materials and resources.
  • Assist with behaviour management to maintain a purposeful learning environment.
  • Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development.
  • Contribute to school activities and enrichment programmes.
About You
  • You have a genuine passion for education and helping young people succeed.
  • Experience working with secondary-aged pupils (either paid or voluntary) is desirable.
  • A positive, proactive, and flexible attitude.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths are essential; further qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) are an advantage.
