Job summary

Randstad Education in Andover, Hampshire, is seeking a Class Teaching Assistant to join a brand new school serving pupils aged 5 to 18 with complex needs. This full-time, term-time role supports one pupil or a small group and assists the Classroom Teacher during lessons.

You will monitor progress, report concerns, supervise breaks and trips, help with planning and marking, and build positive relationships to promote inclusive learning.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Mathematics (minimum)
• Sound IT skills
• Experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar role
• Experience with SEMH in education settings
• Willing to take on additional responsibilities around school activities
• Experience of behaviour management and techniques
• Committed to professional development and DBS clearance

Responsibilities

• Mentor and support one pupil or a small group (≤6)
• Support the Classroom Teacher during lessons
• Report on pupils' progress and concerns; liaise with staff
• Supervise pupils during non-teaching times and trips
• Assist with lesson planning and classroom preparation
• Set work where appropriate and mark work
• Build positive relationships to foster learning outcomes
