Full-Time SEN Teaching Assistant – Yeovil


Location: Yeovil, Somerset
Salary: £13.75 per hour
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Type: Term-Time Only (Full-Time)

A specialist primary and secondary SEN provision in Yeovil is seeking a committed and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time. The role involves supporting pupils aged 4–16 with a range of special educational needs and behavioural challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist teachers in delivering tailored learning plans
  • Support pupils with conditions such as ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language difficulties, and other behavioural needs
  • Promote emotional wellbeing and positive behaviour
  • Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
Ideal Candidate
  • Experience working with SEN pupils in educational or care settings
  • Calm, patient, and resilient approach
  • Comfortable working in a PRU or specialist setting
  • Skilled in de-escalation and behaviour support strategies
Working Hours
  • Monday–Friday (term-time only)
  • Typical hours: 08:30–16:00 (varies slightly by day)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
