Job summary

Finham Park Primary is recruiting a Teaching Assistant Apprentice to join a dedicated team in Coventry. The role focuses on supporting teachers, delivering tailored interventions, and assisting with 1:1 support and Special Needs programmes.

You'll work under supervision to help children develop academically and socially, with training leading to a Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship Standard over about 15 months, plus end-point assessment. Apprenticeship pay applies and progression possible.

Qualifications

• Confident in building and maintaining relationships with young children.
• Works well with other people.
• Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support teaching activities for individuals or groups to ensure safety and development.
• Monitor pupil progress and report to the teacher as appropriate.
• Assist with Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes.
• Deliver programmes to support Special Needs (e.g. Read Write Inc) and one-to-one tuition.
• Assist with planning and preparing learning activities and resources.
• Support use of computing in learning and develop pupils' digital skills.
• Prepare classroom and display pupil work; maintain resources and stock.
