Job summary

A local council in Reading is seeking a dedicated individual to work with children, especially those with special needs. Job description

28.75 hours per week - Term Time only - Fixed Term until 22 July 2026 (linked to named pupil on role) - Required 5th January 2026 (or sooner if available)

  • Has experience of working with children, particularly those with special needs
  • Is passionate about giving all children the best experiences, opportunities, and learning
  • Has good levels of English and Maths
  • Can work independently and use their own initiative as well as work as part of a team
  • Is flexible and adaptable
  • Is unflappable and remains calm under pressure
  • An enhanced disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) will be sought from the successful candidate and shortlisted candidates may be subject to an online search
