Job summary

Apex Education Recruitment is seeking a compassionate 1-1 Teaching Assistant for a Year 3 student at a Hornchurch school in Greater London. You will provide structured learning, support communication and social development, and help build the pupil's independence during the school day.

Role is Monday to Friday, 8.30am–3.30pm, term-time only. Experience with Global Development Delay and epilepsy care plans is valued; TA L2/L3 or SEND/Psychology/Care qualification preferred.

• Experience and understanding of Global Development Delay, communication difficulties and learning needs.
• Patient, nurturing and resilient with a child-centred approach.
• TA L2/L3, SEND, Psychology or Care qualification.

September Start - Looking to recruit a compassionate and dedicated 1-1 Teaching Assistant to work with a Year 3 student that has Global Development Delay and Epilepsy at a Hornchurch School.

The student has limited communication, uses the Now & Next board and works at a low level academically. The successful candidate will provide structured learning, build confidence, and develop the student's independence throughout the school day.

Monday - Friday, 8.30am to 3.30pm (Term time only).

Responsibilities

• Deliver structured learning activities using a Now and Next approach and Bucket Time.
• Support the student's communication, engagement, and social development.
• Adapt learning tasks to meet the student's individual needs and abilities.
• Ensure the student's safety and wellbeing at all times, including following any epilepsy care plans.

Qualifications
