Job summary

Southern Cross School is seeking experienced Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated team. You will support pupils in classrooms, assist with learning activities, and help maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment across the school and on trips.

You will collaborate with teachers to deliver high-quality teaching, mentor students 1:1 or in groups, and contribute to assessment and evidence of progress. A proactive, caring attitude and ability to engage diverse learners are essential.

Qualifications

  • Educated to National Qualifications Framework Level 3 (e.g., NVQ 3, A/AS levels or equivalent).
  • Proven ability to work on own initiative.
  • High level of communication skills and ability to relate positively to children and adults.
  • Excellent in using relevant technology and equipment.
  • Can-do attitude.
  • Committed to the happiness, well-being and progress of everyone at the school.

Overview

Southern Cross School, part of Ambition Community Trust, is seeking experienced Teaching Assistants to join our dedicated and relationally inclusive team.

We are recruiting experienced Teaching Assistants who excel as part of a team and understand a range of teaching, learning and behaviour regulation strategies. The successful candidate will motivate students to strive for success while maintaining a healthy learning environment for all children.

Key Responsibilities

Employment Details

Full‑time equivalent appointment is based on 36 hours per week, with pay for 35 hours per week.
