TEMPORARY LEVEL TWO TEACHING ASSISTANT

The Governors of Sacred Heart school wish to appoint a Teaching Assistant.

If you have experience and passion for shaping the lives of those children with SEND, SEMH and Mental Health worries then your application would be warmly welcomed.

This position is working over 5 days 8.40am until 3.40pm

Responsibilities
  • Experience of working with children of primary age with a passion for language and communication.
  • The ideal candidate should have skills and knowledge of a wide range of additional needs such as sensory processing, social and communication needs, and speech and language needs.
  • Experience of working with/caring for children within specified age range/subject area is desirable.
  • Previous experience of working with young people of primary/secondary school age who may present with challenging behaviour and complex needs, preferably within an educational setting.
  • A nurturing and empathetic approach to behaviour management.
  • The physical and emotional resilience to support students with complex needs, taking a non-judgemental approach.
  • The ability to support the class teacher to monitor student progress, ensuring their improved engagement with the school and their learning.
  • The ability to work in partnership with classroom teachers to differentiate appropriate interventions for students in relation to the curriculum.
  • The ability to work as part of a team using own initiative when needed.
  • Willingness to participate in own professional development.
  • Experience of successfully implementing interventions in supporting social, emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Very confident in supporting our learners to achieve the very best outcomes.
  • Committed to learning that is fun, engaging and provides rapid development.
  • Skilled in supporting the learning of all pupils.
  • A good communicator with adults, parents and children.
