Job summary

Mendip Green Primary School is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary team. You will support teachers with engaging learning experiences, provide academic and pastoral support, and help children develop socially and emotionally within a nurturing environment.

The role suits candidates with primary education experience, SEND support, childcare, or classroom-based learning support.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 GCSEs (Grade C/Level 4 or above), including English and Mathematics.
• Experience working in a school, educational, childcare or youth support setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
• Level 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification, NVQ/VRQ Level 3, or an equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Support the planning, preparation and delivery of engaging lessons.
• Work with individual pupils, small intervention groups, and whole classes.
• Deliver targeted learning support to help pupils achieve their academic goals.
• Assist with classroom behaviour management and pupil engagement.
• Prepare educational resources and learning materials.
• Support pupils with a range of learning needs, including SEND.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
• Promote safeguarding, inclusion, wellbeing and positive behaviour.
