Job summary

A secondary school in Ware is seeking a compassionate Teaching Assistant to support students with special educational needs. The ideal candidate should have a GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths, and experience in supporting teaching and learning in a secondary school setting is preferred. You will collaborate with a dedicated team and be involved in helping students achieve their educational potential in a caring environment. Strong communication and organisational skills are essential. This role primarily involves classroom duties and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • Understanding of the KS3 and/or KS4 curriculum.

Responsibilities

  • Assist students predominantly in a classroom setting.
  • Support students with varying Special Educational Needs under the direction of the SENCO.
  • Engage and encourage independent learning among students.

You will be mainly classroom based and working under the direction of the SENCO, alongside our fantastic team of Teaching Assistants. Our Teaching Assistants are given time to plan and prepare, as well as a weekly joint planning session where ideas and support can be shared within the team.
