Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school in the SK16 area of Tameside. This full-time, term-time role starts ASAP and involves supporting pupils during lessons, assisting individuals and small groups, and promoting positive behaviour and a safe classroom.

Ideal candidates will have Teaching Assistant or relevant childcare experience, be patient, reliable and adaptable, and able to communicate effectively with pupils and staff.

Full-Time Teaching Assistant

Location: SK16, Tameside

Contract: Full-time, term-time only

Start date: ASAP

Teaching Personnel is recruiting a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to work full-time at a welcoming school in the SK16 area of Tameside.

This opportunity would be ideal for someone who already has experience working as a Teaching Assistant. However, applications are also encouraged from candidates with relevant experience in childcare, youth work, sports coaching, mentoring, tutoring or support work.

The Role

• Supporting pupils during lessons and helping them engage with their learning
• Working with individuals and small groups under the guidance of the class teacher
• Providing additional support to pupils with different learning needs
• Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence and independence
• Helping to create a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment
• Building positive relationships with pupils, teachers and other school staff

The Ideal Candidate

• Has previous Teaching Assistant experience or relevant childcare experience
• Is passionate about helping children and young people succeed
• Is patient, reliable and confident when supporting pupils
• Can communicate effectively with pupils and members of staff
• Is adaptable and willing to support across different classes when required
• Can reliably commute to a school in SK16, either by driving or using public transport
• Is available to work full-time during school hours
