SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Sutton-in-Ashfield (Nottinghamshire)

Pay: £90-£110 per day

Start Date: Immediately Available

Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Hours: 8:30am-3:30pm (Morning or Afternoon shifts also available)

About the Role

Monarch Education is seeking caring and proactive SEN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with Special Educational Needs in welcoming schools across NG17. We have flexible opportunities available, including part-time, full-time, and day‑to‑day roles starting immediately.

You will work closely with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups, supporting children with a range of needs including Autism, ADHD, and Speech & Language difficulties. This is a rewarding role where you can make a real difference in pupils’ learning, confidence, and emotional well‑being.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Providing tailored support for pupils with SEND
  • Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
  • Encouraging pupil engagement and emotional regulation
  • Supporting social and communication development
  • Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
  • Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (in education, care, or support roles)
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • A calm, patient, and proactive approach
  • Understanding of strategies for supporting pupils with additional needs
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred but not essential)
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
