Position Overview

Primary Teaching Assistant

  • Role: Learning Support Assistant (Primary School)
  • Location: Slough, Berkshire, SL1
  • Contract: Mon-Fri, 8:30am-4pm
  • Start Date: 03/11/25
  • Pay: £100-£110 per day (Equivalent to £500-£550 per week, based on a 5-day week)

In this role, you'll work closely with teachers to support pupils both in and out of the classroom, helping to create a positive and engaging learning environment. Whether it's offering one-to-one support, assisting with group activities, or helping children build confidence, your contribution as a Teaching Assistant will be truly valued.

Job Requirements

We're looking for someone who can bring energy, empathy, and commitment to the role. Ideally, you will:

  • Demonstrate positive attitudes and behaviours that help build strong relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Show a clear understanding of your role within the classroom and wider school environment.
  • Be committed to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing, following school policies and statutory guidance.
  • Have a good grasp of subject and curriculum knowledge relevant to primary education.
  • Use effective strategies to support teaching and learning, including working with pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
  • Communicate clearly and sensitively with children, adapting your approach to meet individual needs.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support pupil progress.
  • Be open to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.

Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant is desirable but not essential - we welcome applications from those looking to start their journey in education.
