Job summary

Ringwood School is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our SEN team. The role is permanent, term-time only with 2 mandatory INSET days, and runs 8.30am–3pm, Monday to Friday (29.20 hours per week).

You will support learners in and out of the classroom, including those with SEN and EAL, assist in small groups and 1:1 sessions, and contribute to a caring, inclusive environment with a focus on independence and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (essential)
• Experience working in a school setting (desirable but not essential)

The Role:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers and the SEN team to support students in and out of the classroom, helping to remove barriers to learning and fostering a positive, inclusive environment. Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting students with their learning, including those with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and English as an Additional Language (EAL)
• Assisting in classroom activities, small group interventions, and one-to-one support
• Encouraging and promoting independent learning and student confidence
• Providing pastoral care and supporting students’ social and emotional well-being
