Teaching Assistant - SEMH Learning Support

Location: Grantham, Lincolnshire (NG31)

Pay: £90 - £103 per day

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm (Term-time only)

Contract: Long-term to permanent

Start Date: ASAP

We're seeking two compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistants to join a nurturing SEMH (Social, Emotional & Mental Health) school in Grantham, part of a highly respected Multi‑Academy Trust known for its commitment to inclusion and wellbeing. The school provides tailored education for pupils aged 5-16 who thrive in a calm, structured, and understanding environment.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Supporting pupils with SEMH needs both 1:1 and in small groups, ensuring learning is engaging and accessible
  • Working closely with teachers to deliver structured learning activities and behaviour support strategies
  • Helping students develop emotional regulation and resilience through positive relationships
  • Contributing to a supportive, consistent classroom environment where every child can succeed
  • Assisting with lesson preparation, classroom management, and pupil progress monitoring
  • Supporting inclusion across both classroom and outdoor learning
Who We’re Looking For
  • Demonstrated experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant within a school environment (mainstream or specialist)
  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, or additional learning needs
  • A calm, empathetic, and proactive approach to behaviour management and emotional support
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a commitment to promoting positive outcomes
  • Flexibility, resilience, and a genuine passion for helping young people achieve their best
