Teaching Assistant – Unsted Park School & Sixth Form

Due to expansion, Unsted Park School & Sixth Form are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join our Education team now. We are looking for versatile, resilient and committed people who can adapt their practice wherever necessary to support across all key stages. The successful candidate will work alongside the class teacher, assisting a small group of children with their work and supporting pupil behaviour while establishing good relationships with pupils, acting as a role model and responding to individual needs.

This position is Monday to Friday, term‑time only. A school lift/taxi service is available from Guildford Train Station if required.

About the School

Unsted Park School has an Ofsted rating of Good with Outstanding features. Our school is set in a beautiful semi‑rural location with 44 acres of surrounding grounds. We are a SEN school specialising in the education and care of children and young people between the age of 7 to 19 years who are diagnosed as being on the autistic spectrum with associated learning difficulties.

Role Overview

As a TA/LSA, you will work with class teachers to provide support for young people across various subjects using different communication and engagement techniques. Full‑time and part‑time opportunities are available.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist class teachers with the delivery of the curriculum to pupils via small group teaching, playing a supportive role during the pupils’ learning activities.
  • Support pupils to develop their behaviours, attitudes and communication skills, thus creating an inclusive learning environment.
  • Work with pupils and parents to ensure pupils’ learning progress is supported consistently and that pupils work towards their personal learning goals.
  • Collaborate with the wider teaching and support staff to share best practice, gathering and using feedback to contribute to the continuous improvement of the school.
