Teaching Assistant – Primary School

Location: Derby
Pay: £90-£110 per day
Start Date: Immediately Available
Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Hours: 8:30am-3:30pm (Morning or Afternoon shifts also available)

About the Role

Monarch Education is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join supportive primary schools across Derby. We have flexible opportunities available, including part-time, full-time, and day-to-day roles starting immediately.

You will work closely with pupils across EYFS, KS1, and KS2, providing 1:1 and small group support, including for children with SEND. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact on pupils’ learning and development while gaining valuable classroom experience.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Supporting pupils in class and during interventions
  • Assisting with lesson preparation and classroom organisation
  • Encouraging pupil engagement and emotional regulation
  • Delivering tailored support for children with additional needs
  • Collaborating with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals
  • Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience working with children or young people (in education, care, coaching, or support roles)
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A calm, patient, and proactive approach
  • Understanding of EYFS, KS1 or KS2 curriculum (desirable)
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (preferred but not essential)
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
