  • Job Title: Teaching Assistant
  • Location: The Wenlock School, Dudley, West Midlands, DY1 3SB
  • Salary: GBP20,906.25 per annum
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday 08:15 - 16:30, Tuesday - Friday 08:15 - 15:45
  • Contract: Permanent, Term Time only
  • Note: UK applicants only. This role does not offer sponsorship.
About the Role

The Teaching Assistant will work specifically with individual pupils requiring 1:1 support, often with social, emotional, and learning challenges. The role involves supporting pupils with speech and sound disorders, language difficulties, attention issues, challenging behaviors, and work avoidance. It also includes supporting families, carers, and working with relevant agencies like Social Workers, Speech and Language Therapy, and Educational Psychologists. Work may sometimes be outside the main classroom to support pupils' learning, development, and well-being.

General Responsibilities
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of pupils and young people
  • Work in accordance with professional practice, statutory, legal requirements, and school policies
  • Assist with the administration and organization of the school
  • Manage specific areas of work, reviewed annually and aligned with performance management and school improvement
  • Take on additional responsibilities as determined
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with SEND schools (highly desirable)
  • Grade C or equivalent in Maths and English
