1) Exercise of general professional duties
A teacher who is not a principal shall carry out the professional duties of a teacher as circumstances may require:
2) Exercise of particular duties
(a) A teacher employed as a teacher (other than a principal) shall perform, in accordance with directions from the principal, such duties as reasonably assigned.
(b) A teacher employed under paragraph 1(b) shall perform duties as reasonably assigned by the board or the principal of the school where they work.
3. Teaching Responsibilities
Planning and preparing courses and lessons; teaching according to pupils' educational needs; assessing, recording, and reporting on pupils' development, progress, and attainment.
4. General Duties
Promoting pupils' progress and well-being; providing advice and guidance; making records and reports; communicating with parents and external bodies; participating in meetings.
5. Assessment and Reporting
Providing assessments, reports, and references related to pupils, ensuring confidentiality where necessary.
6. Staff and Professional Development
Participating in staff development schemes; reviewing and improving teaching methods; collaborating on curriculum development and pastoral arrangements.
7. Discipline, Health, and Safety
Maintaining good order and discipline; safeguarding health and safety; participating in school meetings related to curriculum and administration.
8. Public Examinations
Preparing pupils for examinations; assessing and reporting; supervising during exams.
9. Management and Administrative Tasks
Contributing to staff recruitment and development; managing work of other teachers; participating in curriculum and organizational activities; supervising pupils and managing school resources.
10. Working Hours and Days
Availability for 195 days per year; specified hours and breaks; adherence to regulations regarding working hours and breaks.
11. Staff Cover
Providing cover for absent teachers as specified, with conditions based on school size and absence duration.
