Hurworth School are looking to recruit an outstanding Teacher to join our Teaching team! The successful candidate will be teaching and supporting young people who may have autism, emotional behavioural difficulties, ADHD and associated complex needs.

Hurworth House School provides specialist education for boys and girls with SEMH difficulties and autism. Our staff are highly trained, skilled and experienced in supporting and educating our children, many of whom have a co‑m‑orbid diagnosis. The school is registered to provide education to up to 80 students aged between 5 and 19 years. We have a discrete primary provision and separate middle and upper schools.

The Successful Candidate Will Be a Qualified Teacher And Ideally Have Experience Of Teaching And Supporting Young People Within SEN, Along With The Following Characteristics

• Resilience: We support some of the most vulnerable children in society who have varying degrees of emotional behavioural difficulties, autism, ADHD and associated difficulties so there will be times where your resilience is challenged.
• Communication: Communicating with our young people is vital to understand their needs. Good teamwork and communication plays a key part in ensuring important information is relayed to other staff.
• Organisation: You will have experience of organising, planning and teaching well‑structured lessons tailored to the needs of the pupils as well as monitoring each students learning needs, adapting teaching to respond to the strengths and needs of each pupil.
• Caring: Our young people require the best care we can offer. If you are a naturally caring and compassionate person, this is the role for you.
• Attentive: No two tasks will be the same so being attentive to understand the needs of the young people we support is vital.
