A specialized educational institution in Morton seeks a secondary trained teacher to support students with social emotional and mental health needs. This role requires empathy and resilience, ensuring a safe environment for learning. Teachers will work Monday to Friday with the opportunity for a permanent contract after a probation period. Informal tours are available for interested candidates.
An Independent School in Gainsborough require a secondary trained teacher to join them, due to expansion and increasing number of referrals. The school cater for students whose primary need is social emotional and mental health based and so, a high level of empathy towards children with adverse childhood experiences is required. Children at the school can sometimes struggle in regulating their behaviour and emotions and at times, physical behaviour can occur. This role requires a level of resilience however, you would have the full support of qualified teaching assistants and the wider school community in managing this safely. A Trauma Informed approach to teaching is required for this role and children are generally working at lower than age related expectations.
At this time, the school are considering all subject specialisms and are open to interested parties arranging an informal tour through Milk Education, if you wish to understand the setting more. We have successfully transitioned a number of mainstream teachers into this setting over the last three years, so previous experience of working within an SEMH setting is not essential, but a strong knowledge of SEND would be advantageous.
The working hours are 08:45-16:15, Monday to Friday and teachers are paid to scale M1 - UPS3. This is a temp to perm role whereby you will complete 12 weeks probation with Milk education at which point, the school have the option to sign a permanent contract so we are ideally interested in teachers who are seeking a permanent role.
