The Misbourne is an 11-18 mixed school single-academy trust in the picturesque village of Great Missenden in the heart of the Chilterns. We have over 1100 students on roll, including a successful and growing Sixth Form. It is an exciting time to work with the Science team, with large numbers of students choosing to study the triple sciences at GCSE, along with ever-increasing numbers of students studying the sciences at A level.

Dedicated Resources: Work in one of 8 dedicated, well-equipped labs with newly installed interactive Promethean boards, equipped to deliver specialist teaching to A-level

Expert Support: be part of a 13-strong team, fully supported by three experienced Science Technicians who ensure maximum practical opportunities.

Collaborative Culture: shared, fully-resourced curriculum resources mean you can focus on teaching and professional development, and to support staff wellbeing

Focus on STEM: be part of our fantastic team of staff who aim to inspire students through a focus on careers, educational visits and talks that integrate within the science curriculum. The department plays a full part in the academy's role as Lead Careers School for Bucks ( and an Area of Excellence recognised nationally by Challenge Partners)

At KS3 a broad range of science topics are taught to provide the foundation knowledge required for success in the sciences. At GCSE we follow the AQA Triple Science and Trilogy Science courses. At A Level, Biology and Chemistry follow the OCR A specifications, Physics follows the AQA specification.

The Science department works closely with our excellent careers team to take the lead in a wide range of STEM opportunities for students.
