Lift Kingswood is seeking a passionate Science Teacher to join Kingswood Academy and help strengthen our exceptional provision. The role focuses on planning engaging science lessons, tracking progress, and providing constructive feedback to support every student.

Qualifications

  • Have QTS or are currently training and due to achieve QTS by September 2026
  • Hold a degree in a science-based subject and would like to transition into teaching via in-house Instructor training route
  • Desire to make a difference to young people's lives and commit to high-quality teaching
  • Demonstrate passion for teaching science and building strong student relationships

Responsibilities

  • Plan and teach science lessons that engage students and build understanding
  • Adapt teaching to meet needs of all learners including SEND, EAL, and high-ability pupils
  • Use assessment and feedback to monitor progress and close gaps
  • Maintain a positive classroom culture with clear routines and high expectations
  • Collaborate with colleagues, pastoral staff and parents to support student outcomes

Job description

Lift Kingswood are seeking a passionate, committed Science Teacher to join our team and help further strengthen our exceptional provision.

About the role

As a Science Teacher at Kingswood Academy, you'll create a learning environment where all students feel supported and encouraged. You'll plan engaging lessons, track student progress, and provide helpful feedback. Working closely with colleagues, pastoral staff, and parents, you'll help meet the needs of every student and build their confidence.

Key responsibilities
  • Plan and teach lessons that engage students and build understanding
  • Adapt your teaching style to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND, high ability, and EAL
  • Use assessment and feedback to help students reflect on their progress and close any gaps
  • Build a positive classroom culture with clear routines and high expectations for behaviour
  • Work with colleagues, parents, and support staff to create the best outcomes for every student
We are looking for someone who
  • Have QTS, or are currently training and due to achieve QTS by September 2026 or hold a degree in a science based subject and would like to transition into teaching through our in-house Instructor training route, leading to securing qualified teacher status within two years. Helping Lift Kingswood to develop the next generation of great teachers.
  • Have a genuine passion for teaching PE and a love for the subject
