We are seeking to recruit a talented and qualified piano teacher to join our team of Visiting Music Teachers (VMTs), at the earliest opportunity and no later than January 2027. This is a self-employed position and the amount of work available will depend upon the number of pupils wishing to take individual piano lessons. In the first instance, we are recruiting a well-qualified piano teacher to take on individual pupils for approximately 5 hours per week; however it is highly likely these numbers will increase and incorporate teaching across both Prep and Senior schools.
The successful candidate should be a first study pianist and have a proven track record of teaching from beginner to Grade 8 across pupils of a wide range of ages. Candidates selected for interview will be required to demonstrate this. The role also requires the ability to accompany singers and instrumentalists in examinations and at school performances.
The Director of Music is responsible for the organisation of all VMTs, all of whom must undertake whole school INSET involving safe-guarding of children. Lessons are to be charged to parents at the rate of £19.50 inc vat per half hour lesson.
