Female PE Teacher
Location: Sunderland
Contract: Full-time
Key Stages: KS3-KS4
Start Date: January 26

A well-regarded secondary school in Sunderland is seeking a passionate, energetic, and dedicated Female PE Teacher to join their supportive and successful PE department from January 26. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and empower students across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping them build confidence, develop teamwork skills, and cultivate a lifelong appreciation for sport, health, and fitness.

Role Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and high-quality PE lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Teach across KS3 and KS4, covering a broad range of sports and physical activities, including team games, individual sports, fitness, and health-based PE.
  • Create an inclusive, motivating, and safe learning environment that encourages full participation and skill development.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the diverse needs of all students, including those requiring additional support.
  • Monitor pupil progress, assess performance, and provide constructive feedback to promote achievement and personal growth.
  • Prepare students for internal assessments, inter-school competitions, and GCSE PE where applicable.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, resource development, and ongoing departmental improvement.
  • Support extracurricular activities such as sports clubs, school teams, competitions, and enrichment events.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching PE at KS3-KS4.
  • Strong subject knowledge across a variety of sports and activities.
  • Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills, with the ability to motivate and engage learners.
  • A genuine passion for promoting physical education, wellbeing, and active lifestyles in young people.
  • A female PE specialist is required to support the delivery of the girls' curriculum.
