Music Teacher – Location: Darlington – Contract: Full-time – Key Stages: KS3‑KS4 – Start Date: January 2026

We are seeking an inspiring and dedicated Music Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Darlington. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to nurture students' musical talent, creativity, and confidence across Key Stages 3 and 4.

Role Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Music lessons in line with the national curriculum.
  • Teach a broad curriculum across KS3 and KS4, covering performance, composition, theory, and musical appreciation.
  • Create an inclusive classroom environment where students feel encouraged to explore and develop their musical abilities.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including those requiring additional support.
  • Monitor, assess, and provide constructive feedback on student progress.
  • Prepare students for concerts, internal assessments, and external examinations, ensuring they feel confident and well supported.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, resource development, and the ongoing improvement of the Music department.
  • Support extracurricular activities such as choir, ensemble groups, school productions, or music clubs where possible.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching Music at KS3‑KS4.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for encouraging student creativity.
  • Excellent classroom management, communication skills, and a commitment to student progression.
