Role: Teacher of History

Location: Canterbury

Start: January 2026

Salary: £32,916 - £51,047 depending on experience

Tradewind Recruitment are actively searching for enthusiastic History Teachers to work long term in a variety of secondary schools in the Canterbury area. The roles are to start in January and will be until Easter in the first instance, full time!

The role:
  • Create and deliver lesson plans across KS3 and KS4 ensuring all abilities and needs are met
  • Foster a deep appreciation for History and its relevance to the modern world
  • Track and monitor progress to ensure all students reach their full potential
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues within the History Department and across the wider school
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Proven experience in teaching History across KS3 and KS4
  • Excellent behaviour management
  • Strong communication skills
  • Hold or be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional reference checks
  • CV must cover the last 10 years of employment history where possible
  • Legal right to work in the UK
