A welcoming and well-regarded secondary school in Sunderland is seeking a passionate, adaptable, and skilled Teacher of French to join their Modern Foreign Languages department on a full-time maternity cover from February 26. This is an excellent opportunity to inspire students across KS3 and KS4, fostering a love of language learning, cultural understanding, and confident communication.

Role Responsibilities
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging French lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
  • Teach across KS3 and KS4, developing students' reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills.
  • Create a supportive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages confidence and progress.
  • Differentiate lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including those requiring additional support or stretch.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback to support achievement.
  • Prepare students for internal assessments and GCSE examinations, ensuring they feel confident and well‑prepared.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, resource development, and continuous improvement within the MFL department.
  • Support enrichment opportunities such as language clubs, cultural events, or international‑themed activities.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching French at KS3-KS4.
