Job Responsibilities
  • Teach English and Media across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, ensuring engaging and stimulating lessons.
  • Develop and deliver innovative lessons that inspire students to explore literature, language and media texts.
  • Use a range of teaching strategies to cater for the varying needs of students, including those with special educational needs and differing learning styles.
  • Provide constructive feedback and set high expectations to help students achieve their best outcomes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in the English and Media department to develop the curriculum and share best practices.
  • Contribute to the school community through extracurricular activities related to English, Media or the wider curriculum.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and career progression.
The Ideal Candidate
  • Holds a relevant degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Has strong knowledge of the English and Media curricula and is comfortable teaching at KS3, KS4 and ideally KS5.
  • Is a passionate, engaging and dedicated educator who can inspire students.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to teamwork.
  • Is committed to continuous professional development and keen to progress in their teaching career.
  • Ideally has experience teaching Media at A-Level (but not essential).
