Part:Time Qualified English Teacher (Maternity Cover)

Start Date: January 2026

Contract: 1 Year Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)

Hours: Part Time, 2 Days per Week (Tuesday and Thursday)

Salary: M1 : M6 (FTE: GBP31,350 : GBP42,689) depending on experience, pro-rata

The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, and Qualified English Teacher to join our dedicated faculty on a part:time basis to cover a one:year maternity leave starting in January 2026.

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated teacher to make a real impact on our students development. The role requires a commitment of two days per week (Tuesday and Thursday) and involves teaching English across Key Stages 3 and 4 (ages 11:16).

The Successful Candidate Will
  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in English or a related subject.
  • Be passionate about teaching English and committed to raising student attainment across KS3 and KS4.
  • Be able to plan and deliver engaging lessons that support the schools vision of Achieving Excellence Together.
  • Be committed to maintaining high standards of behaviour and academic challenge.
  • Be adept at using digital platforms for homework and student tracking (e.g., Show My Homework/Satchel: One experience is beneficial).
