Ready to inspire the next generation of criminologists?

If you love sparking curiosity and helping students see the world through a new lens, this one’s for you.

We’re working with a forward-thinking secondary school [or sixth form college, if applicable] that’s looking for a passionate Teacher of Criminology to join their social sciences team from January 2026. This is a full-year contract running until December 2026, with the potential to extend for the right person.

About the College

This is a vibrant, inclusive school with a strong culture of respect and curiosity. Students here don’t just study for exams – they explore big ideas, challenge perceptions, and think critically about the world around them. The department is well-resourced, collaborative, and buzzing with energy.

You’ll be joining a supportive team that values creativity, fresh thinking, and genuine enthusiasm for teaching.

Your Role

As the Criminology Teacher, you’ll:

  • Deliver engaging lessons across KS4 and KS5, covering topics like crime and punishment, criminal psychology, and the justice system.
  • Encourage debate, discussion, and independent thought – helping students connect theory to the real world.
  • Contribute to the wider social sciences curriculum and department enrichment activities.
  • Assess progress, provide meaningful feedback, and celebrate every small win with your students.
What We’re Looking For
  • A qualified teacher with UK QTS (or equivalent).
  • Experience teaching Criminology, Sociology, or Psychology at KS4/KS5 level.
  • Someone who thrives on connecting with students and bringing complex ideas to life.
  • A positive, reflective educator who enjoys collaborating and sharing best practice.
